Dale “Greybeard” Sanders challenges himself to set another world record, trying to reclaim his title as the oldest person to paddle the full source to sea on the Mississippi River. At 87 years old it takes perseverance and an attitude that says, “One of these days I’ll get old."

Dale is also the oldest person to hike the Appalachian Trail, he's the oldest person to hike Rim-to-rim-to-rim in the Grand Canyon, he's the oldest person to hike the Florida Trail and Pinhoti Trail. His trail name is Greybeard and he is well-known in the outdoor adventure community.

Greybeard: The Man, The Myth, The Mississippi follows Dale on his three-month paddle of the Mississippi River, a trip that totals about 2,340 miles of paddling. His incredible journey serves as the backdrop for the story of Dale Sanders, going beyond the river paddle The film explores Dale's life - and what it takes to be a person who can still do such extreme physical feats at 87 years of age.

Director Zak Rivers is an award-winning photographer, filmmaker, and musician from Mankato, MN. While his client base is largely from MN, he has adventured and shot in Zion Natl. Park, Mt. Hood, the MN Boundary Waters, Cambodia, Big Bear CA, and recently Nepal/Mt. Everest.
