Riki's Pretty Gritty City Tour

At DSFilmFest’s inception, our friend, Film North Executive Director Andrew Peterson said to DSFilmFest Founding Director Richard Hansen, “You need to meet Riki, she will move mountains for you.” Andrew was not wrong.

Since that time, Riki has become the Duluth Superior Film Festival - and the North Star Story Summit’s - Greatest Champion. How did she earn this title, you ask? Her tours.

Starting in year one, (2010), Riki organized a big ol’ van for visiting filmmaker, bounced them around the region’s location highlights, stuffed them full of Anchor Burgers, and sent them back to the festival with the best kind of sensation… inspired ambition.

Why we didn’t name this thing until 2022 has been lost over the year, but last year, we honored this program with its obvious name.

This is a first-come-first-serve event. You can request a spot on Riki’s bus by stopping by the UMFO filmmaker’s lounge and talking to an UMFO representative.
