The Duluth Superior Film Festival's full lineup has been released! DSFF is proud to feature Regional, State, and even a World Premiere among the screenings this year. Check out the film lineup & event schedule on the official website.
DSFF is thrilled to be screening three new documentaries by members of the Minneapolis chapter of Film Fatales. Film Fatales is a national organization that supports an inclusive community of women feature film and television directors who meet regularly to share resources, collaborate on projects and build an environment in which to make their films.
Dawn Mikkelson's RISKING LIGHT debuted this March at the Cinequest Film & VR Festival and most recently played in April at the Minneaplis/St. Paul International Film Festival (MSPIFF)! Official Logline: From the streets of Minneapolis, the aboriginal lands of Australia, and the killing fields of Cambodia come the powerful stories of three people who had the courage to step out of the haunting, tragic darkness of the past, risking everything to reach the light of their own compassion.
SILICONE SOUL, Melody Gilbert's latest project, also screened this April at MSPIFF after holding its World Premiere at the Thessaloniki International Documentary Film Festival in Greece! Official Logline: Silicone Soul explores the emotional connection some people have to their synthetic companions and what that means for the future of human relationships. Ultimately, this is a film about love, loneliness, secrets and, perhaps, acceptance. Who are we to judge who…or what…people choose to love?
Finally, Norah Shapiro's timely political chronicle TIME FOR ILHAN is headed to DSFF fresh off its World Premiere at Tribeca Film Festival! Official Logline: Somali-born Ilhan Omar challenges the status quo as she runs for a seat in the Minnesota House of Representatives in 2016.
Don't miss these amazing documentaries, as well as so many more regionally filmed and produced projects, at the Duluth Superior Film Festival, May 30th - June 3rd! Entrance is FREE!
