Local musicians Charlie Parr, Ingeborg von Agassiz, Rick McLean, Superior Siren, and Alan Sparhawk of Low rock the historic Duluth Armory stage in "Night at the Armory," which originally aired as a TV series on the Duluth CW in March 2018.  Catch a DSFF-exclusive feature film version of this musical performance documentary in shot in the gritty, crumbling, and frigidly cold Duluth Armory.

Red Betty and the Murder Farm Script Reading

 Expect bloody battles and plenty of b-movie ridiculousness in this staged reading of a feature length screenplay.  Betty is a shy farm girl who never grew up.  Her parents have transformed their property into a "murder farm," a place where serial killers and supervillains can conduct their business in peace.  But when a Bloody Boy survives a ruthless beating at the hands of the evil Doctor Talky, Betty takes pity on him and nurses him back to health.  All hell breaks loose when Doctor Talky discovers that The Bloody Boy is still alive, and wages war against Betty and her family.  Expect broken jaws and machetes sticking out of faces in this insane horror comedy.

Members of Film Fatales, a global community of women directors of feature-length films,  reflect on the process, challenges and joys unique to directing feature films. They will discuss the structure of the organization it’s mission, goals, and their films and the filmmaking process.

Attendees learn how each panelist came to be involved in their current roles in the film industry, what resources they’ve used to develop their careers, and what they would encourage others to use today.

This panel discussion will also look to engage, inspire and educate the community about what is currently happening with film and video production in Minnesota.
